Jewish Home establishes an IV Center of Excellence

Jewish Home has established an IV Center of Excellence, further enhancing the quality of care and significantly reducing hospitalizations among long-term care residents and short-term rehabilitation patients.

“This advancement underscores our commitment to improving healthcare outcomes, ensuring timely interventions, and providing the highest standard of care,” said Jackie Felker, a registered nurse who serves as Jewish Home’s vice president of nursing services.

Nursing administration at Jewish Home provided comprehensive training to more than 15 nurses, equipping them with the expertise to successfully insert IVs and administer fluids and medications as needed.

According to a news release, by implementing this center of excellence — an offering not typically found in senior-living medical care — Jewish Home is providing residents and patients the best approach for fluid-medication infusion. This decreases the need for hospital transport for these services and elevates medical care on the Jewish Home campus.
