Physicians join Thompson Health

Thompson Health recently announced several physicians have joined its staff.

 

Prong Geiger

• Physician Michelle Prong Geiger joined UR Medicine Thompson Health’s Canandaigua Medical Group. She completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she also received her medical degree. She holds a master’s in public health from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and University in Blacksburg, Virginia., and a bachelor’s in human biology from Stanford University in Stanford, California. Board eligible in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Prong Geiger previously worked in the resident clinic at the Culver Medical Group Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Clinic in Rochester.

 

Joseph Caravella

• Physician Joseph Caravella joined the team at UR Medicine Thompson Health’s Canandaigua Family Practice. After receiving his Bachelor of Science at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Caravella became a doctor of osteopathy at William Carey University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He then completed his residency in family medicine at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana. Caravella previously worked as a clinical skills instructor at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, and as a resident preceptor at Bridge House treatment facility, also in New Orleans.

 

Andrew Quinn

• Physician Andrew J. Quinn joined Thompson Health Gastroenterology in Canandaigua. Board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology, Quinn has a bachelor’s from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and received his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and his fellowship in gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn. Quinn is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Most recently, he served in the department of medicine division of gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Queens in New York City.
