50 Years Celebration — Unity Hospital in September 2025 celebrated 50 years in operation. It first opened as Park Ridge Hospital in 1975 to meet the needs of a growing suburban community on Rochester’s westside. Built with the support of neighbors, donors and caregivers, it quickly became a trusted destination for local families. Today, Unity is a 471-bed hospital and a cornerstone of Rochester Regional Health, home to nationally recognized programs including the Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center and the August Family Birth Place. For 50 years, Unity Hospital has welcomed generations of babies, restored patients through rehabilitation, and compassionately delivered high- quality care close to home. In celebration of this amazing milestone, the hospital will have archival photos of the facility from the 1970s on display, with games and retro-themed activities throughout the day for team members.
