Renovations of the Highland Family Maternity Center: The renovation of Highland’s Family Maternity Center was underway at the end of 2025. This includes upgrades to the units’ 40 patient rooms, hallways, cabinets, countertops, flooring, and wall protection. The bathrooms are undergoing complete renovations, with all-new fixtures. The corridors are being updated with new flooring, paint, and lighting. There will also be a complete overhaul of our nurses’ station, bringing our space up to date with the required technology.
New Advanced mammography technology for patients with dense breast tissue or higher risk of breast cancer: The new GE HealthCare Pristina mammography machine at Highland Breast Imaging enhances the hospital’s ability to offer contrast-enhanced mammography, a valuable tool especially for patients with dense breast tissue or those at increased risk for breast cancer. This cutting-edge equipment is for patients at high risk for breast cancer who can’t or won’t get an MRI, those with prior breast cancer (especially if they have dense breasts), and those with a moderate (15-19% lifetime) risk for breast cancer and dense breasts who won’t qualify for an MRI.
