The Sweet Arrival Soirée hosted by the F.F. Thompson Foundation raised approximately $200,000 to benefit a $2.5 million expansion and renovation of the Birthing Center at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Held Aug. 28 at Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua, the event had 270 people in attendance. Genesee Construction was the presenting sponsor, with music from Dave Turner and the Rolling Heads.
With construction beginning in 2026, the Birthing Center will go from 10 labor and delivery rooms to 12 so the hospital can accommodate the growing demand. Plans also call for upgrades to existing triage, storage, and waiting areas to make the unit more inviting and patient- and family-friendly.
Foundation Director Heather Rickett said Thompson, a nonprofit health system, is grateful to all of the event’s sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for their support.
“Not only was the evening sweet, but it was successful, giving our fundraising campaign a tremendous boost,” she said. “We are fortunate to have an incredibly generous community, and it’s especially gratifying to know the proceeds from this event will directly benefit area families for years to come.”
