• The new Thompson Health gastroenterology practice formally joined the health system, preserving a long-standing local GI practice. In addition, over the course of 2025, Thompson successfully recruited nine new providers for its primary care network and opened its second outpatient pharmacy, the Victor Medical Group Pharmacy.
• Within the hospital, Thompson implemented a multimillion-dollar campus improvement plan involving an upgrade to the main entrance and relocation of both the gift shop and the chapel in preparation for replacing the existing MRI machine with a new wide‑bore scanner scheduled to arrive in 2026. On the inpatient side, Thompson advanced plans to expand The birthing center from 10 to 12 labor and delivery rooms.
• At Thompson’s assisted living community of Clark Meadows, construction began in October 2025 on a new 12-apartment memory care addition.
• On the quality front, the hospital earned its fifth consecutive designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a magnet hospital. The designation is considered one of the ultimate benchmarks for measuring the quality of patient care and signifies that Thompson’s nurses – supported by other members of the hospital’s team – meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence. Fewer than 10 percent of U.S. hospitals are magnet-recognized facilities. Approximately 1.5 percent have received a fifth designation, with the majority of them being larger, academic hospitals.
• Additional quality designations in 2025 included once again receiving Blue Distinction® Centers+ for Knee and Hip Replacement designation from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and again earning The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards.
• Also in 2025, Thompson earned the Silver Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America and the Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America, recognizing our sustained commitment to fostering a supportive and healthy work environment for every associate.
• In addition, Thompson launched an internal award in 2025 – To complement the DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence, the new BEE Award honors non-nursing associates, such as patient care technicians and medical office assistants.
