Career Highlights: More than a decade of senior operations experience at large, complex academic and urban health systems. As vice president of operations at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, an 877-bed, Magnet-designated hospital with a Level 1 trauma center and Level III NICU oversaw ancillary support services, surgical services, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, parking services and major capital and construction projects across a 3.2-million-square-foot campus. Also led operational partnerships focused on quality, safety and patient flow at one of the Midwest’s busiest hospitals, supporting more than 30,000 acute discharges and 80,000 emergency department visits annually. Also served for seven years at Johns Hopkins Medicine in administrative leadership roles, including administrative director at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, with oversight of ambulatory operations, oncology financial management and multidisciplinary service-line development. Has been recognized for collaborative leadership and workforce engagement, including implementing recruitment and retention strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic that helped reverse significant nursing and surgical technologist turnover.

How do you see the healthcare industry changing in the next few years, and how will you prepare the organization for those changes? “Healthcare is becoming more complex, with ongoing workforce challenges, financial pressures, and rising expectations around access and patient experience particularly in the digital health space. To prepare, we will focus on strengthening core operations, supporting our workforce, and partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure Strong Memorial remains adaptable, high-performing and patient-centered.”
What are your top three priorities for your organization this year? “My top priorities are supporting and engaging our workforce, advancing quality and patient safety and ensuring key strategic and capital initiatives move forward efficiently and in alignment with the hospital’s mission.”
How can the healthcare industry in the region be improved? “Improvement comes through collaboration. By working closely with regional partners, investing in the workforce and leveraging the strengths of an academic medical center, we can improve access, address disparities, and deliver high-quality care across our communities.”
